Cubs

About our Cub Pack

For Cubs, excitement and adventure are key. Their programme offers a huge variety of activities surrounding areas of fitness, global and beliefs; whilst allowing them to be creative and get involved in their local communities. Cubs are introduced to exciting outdoor skills and take part in adventurous activities, as well as camps and residential experiences.

"If the amount of fun they had is measured by the amount of sand dropped arround my floors... then they had a LOT of fun. Thank you." - One of the Cub Parents after an evening.

Who are we?

We are girls and boys aged 8 to 10 years old.

When do we meet?

We meet on Tuesdays 17:45 to 19:30.

What are Cubs?

Cubs began in 1916, and follows on from Beavers. Both boys and girls can join around their 8th birthday. They ‘move-up’ to the Scout section when they are 10.

How much does it cost?

We have a monthly subscription of £15 per month. Adventurous activities can incur an additional cost.

What makes the 10th Cubs so good?

It's action packed

We never stop, its always activities, challenges and games for us. We are always learning and always trying new things.

Going outdoors

We go climbing, shooting, camping, hiking, swimming, cooking, axe throwing, zip wiring! You name it, we do it!

Learning new skills

We are always working through badges and awards by learning new and useful skills, such as first aid, cooking and crafts.

Exploring the wilderness

We love to explore our local area, whether thats by hiking, playing wide games or going on trips and visits.

Making new friends

We make lots of new friends by playing games, completing challenges and working in teams. Our Scout group is one big family after all!

Being successful

As well as working through badges and awards, we have an internal leadership structure, where we can become Sixers and Seconders, running our own small Six (team).

Nights away

We love to go camping! Akela likes us to cook our own dinners and we like being away from home! We get to stay up late and be with our friends.

Becoming independent

The leaders encourage us to grow and take the lead. Sometimes we organise games in our teams and if we work hard, we can become Sixers and Seconders.

Most importantly, we have fun!

We offer lots of different activities, games and camps to suit everyone.. Come and find out for yourself!
