Squirrels

About our Squirrel Drey

Squirrels are the youngest and newest section of the Scouting movement, and generally meet for an hour per week. Through different games and activities they begin to learn what Scouting has to offer, having a lot of fun along the way. These sessions will be jam packed with outdoor activities, fun, games, badges, laughter, and so much more.

Who are we?

We are girls and boys ages 4 and 5 years old.

When do we meet?

We meet on Thursdays 17:00 to 18:00.

What are Squirrels?

Squirrels began in 2021, and became the youngest section in the Scouting family. Both boys and girls can join from around their 4th birthday. They move on up to the Beavers section when they are 6.

How much does it cost?

We have a monthly subscription of £10 per month. Adventurous activities can incur an additional cost.

What makes the 10th Squirrels so good?

We give things a go

We always meet and try new things like growing plants and fun experiments.

Doing new things

We learn by doing! Whether thats seeing something new or caving we love doing new activities! And we do lots!

Seeing the outdoors

We love visiting the outdoors! Seeing the mini beasts, going on hikes, and seeing what’s around us. We love our area!

Learning about those around us

We often go on trips and visits to learn about the world around us. We visit the fire station and have even had the police visit.

Making new friends

We love meeting other Squirrels and making new friends. Playing games together, completing challenges and working as a team. Our group is one big family!

Being successful

Throughout our time in Squirrels we earn our badges which we put proudly on our uniform. We show off to others what we have done.

Taking pride in ourselves

We love to look smart in our bright red uniform and our group necker. We wear it proudly when we meet in public.

Activities away

We love to try new activities away from the hall and sometimes even joint with the Beavers. We love meeting new groups from all over the Bournemouth District!

Most importantly, we have fun!

We offer lots of different activities, games and events to suit everyone… Come and find out for yourself!
