Young Leaders

About Young Leaders

Young Leaders are a highly prized section in the Scout movement. For many, being a Young Leader allows them to draw on everything they have learnt and experienced throughout Scouting and turn it into exciting games and activity plans for the sections. The leadership team actively encourage them to help plan, deliver and review weekly meetings, games and camps. Being a Young Leader also helps them to develop on their social skills, leadership skills and work towards external qualifications, such as the Duke of Edinburgh's award scheme.

'To anyone who hasn’t tried Scouting before, I’d say come on up and have a go! I think that most people don’t really know that Scouting is about activities, friendship and meeting people from other countries. I’ve been in the Movement since I was a Beaver and I still love it!'
